It simultaneously documents<br \/>\nand shapes reality, bears witness and interprets, captures a moment\u2014but also influences how<br \/>\nwe remember it. Photography can be evidence, but also a construction; a trace of the past, but<br \/>\nalso a means of its interpretation.<\/p>\n<p>The new issue of the Proceedings of the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina is<br \/>\ndedicated to photography as a historical source and a museological tool. The focus is on the<br \/>\nrole of photography in researching the past, building a culture of memory, and contemporary<br \/>\nmuseum practices.<\/p>\n<p>We invite researchers, curators, historians, theorists, artists, and cultural workers to reflect on<br \/>\nphotography as a medium of knowledge, memory, and interpretation through various<br \/>\ndisciplines and approaches.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THEMATIC SECTIONS<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022Photography as a historical document \u2013 research, testimony, and methodology; how<br \/>\nphotographs record the past and serve as a source for historical research<br \/>\n\u2022Photography in museum practice \u2013 its role in exhibitions, interpretation of exhibits, exhibition<br \/>\ndesign, and the construction of collective memory<br \/>\n\u2022Photography and education \u2013 how museums use photography in educational programs,<br \/>\nworkshops, guided tours, and digital learning<br \/>\n\u2022Ethics of representing violence and trauma \u2013 the depiction of war and traumatic events,<br \/>\nresponsible work with sensitive visual material<br \/>\n\u2022Private and family photography \u2013 research into personal and family archives as historical<br \/>\nsources and museum artifacts<br \/>\n\u2022Archives and photographic collections \u2013 preservation, digitization, access, cataloguing, and<br \/>\ninterpretation of museum materials<br \/>\n\u2022Photography and visual culture \u2013 construction of identity, politics of representation, the role of<br \/>\nmedia in shaping perceptions of the past<br \/>\n\u2022Contemporary technologies and innovations \u2013 digital collections, interactive exhibitions,<br \/>\nmultimedia approaches, online access to museum collections<br \/>\n\u2022Facts and artifacts \u2013 photography between evidence and interpretation, the space between<br \/>\nhistorical fact and museological construction<\/p>\n<p><strong>SUBMISSION PROCESS<\/strong><br \/>\nThe call is open for:<br \/>\n\u2022 academic and professional papers<br \/>\n\u2022 theoretical essays<br \/>\n\u2022 case studies and practice reviews<\/p>\n<p>The submission process takes place in two phases.<br \/>\nIn the first phase, authors should submit: the title of the paper, an abstract (200\u2013300 words),<br \/>\nkeywords, and a short biography.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the submitted proposals, the editorial board will carry out a selection and invite<br \/>\nselected authors to submit full papers.
