Muzejske priče

Story about the largest museum exhibit

The armored train is intended for armed combat. It consists of an armored locomotive, several armored armed wagons, and auxiliary wagons or platforms. It first appeared in the American Civil War (1861-1865). During World War II, armored trains were most widely used in occupied European countries, especially in the former Yugoslavia. They were used to protect important railway lines and facilities from attacks by partisan units. The train owned by the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of three armored trains in the composition of the NDH Home Guard, whose armored wagons were manufactured in 1942 at the railway workshop in Zagreb.
