Solidarity: Let’s Warm the Museum

In February 2012, the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina faced closure. The museum’s team organized the “Solidarity: Let’s Warm the Museum” campaign with the aim of opening the museum’s collections to the public. Many citizens, institutions, organizations, cultural workers, and artists joined museum employees in planning and implementing a seven-day program. The museum received significant media support during this time. From that moment, the museum entered a new phase of operation and collaboration with various partners. A visible symbol of this change in the museum’s working strategy is the gloves from an art installation on the museum’s facade. The artistic installation was created by Nardina Zubanović, Ira Skopljak, and Nela Baždar. This intervention invited people to donate their gloves and symbolically warm the museum, emphasizing that through collective effort, society can warm the museum.
